Police confirm link between three teen suicides at Lotus Tower and Altair

Police have confirmed a tragic connection between the death of a 16-year-old schoolgirl at Colombo’s Lotus Tower and the earlier suicides of two students at the Altair luxury apartment in Slave Island.

The girl, a grade 11 student from an international school, jumped from the 29th floor of the Tower and was found on the third floor. She was a close friend of the two 15-year-old students who died by suicide in July at the Altair apartments. Her father informed police that she had been deeply affected by their deaths.

Maradana Police are continuing their investigation into this heartbreaking series of events.
