Two minor tremors have been reported in Sri Lanka. The Geological Survey & Mines Bureau reported a tremor in Trincomolee, Gomarankadawala with a magnitude of 3 in the Richter scale and another in Kirinda with a magnitude of 2.6 in the Richter scale.
Although such tremors are not uncommon in Sri Lanka, the Geological Survey & Mines Bureau has reassured the public that there is no need to panic. A senior official stated that the tremors are minor and there is nothing to worry about.
Earthquakes are an inevitable part of living in Sri Lanka. Over the past few years, the country has seen more tremors than usual. The Geological Survey & Mines Bureau is continuously monitoring seismic activity and providing updates to the public.
